New Year Resolutions

2009 - it's a new, fresh start, a chance to bloom and change. I am determined to make 2009 an AMAZING year, and these are some goals I set to help me do so...

New Year Resolutions

1. No more holding back what I really feel inside. Be assertive; tell people how I really feel, not what I think they want me to feel. My feelings are just as important as theirs. Hey, I'm only human - it's healthy to let rip once in a while.

2. STOP OBSESSING. As I teen, I find myself musing over little details - weight, hair, nails, legs etc. I'm not perfect, and I'll never be. No one will ever be perfect, so long they're human. Relax, and do things at a steady pace. No more concentrating on unimportant things. My life has only begun.

3. Stop babbling. Babbling often gets me in trouble, and I feel like a complete moron afterwards. That ol' quote again - Think before you act/speak.

4. Don't flatter, unless it's really, really necessary. Flattering gives people the wrong idea sometimes.

5. Pay attention in class. It's useful sometimes.

6. KICK SOME BUTT.

Blogger

Blogger runs on a completely different clock than I do. It is 2009 over where I live...what's with the whole 'IT'S STILL 2008' thing???

Yes, yes, I know - I'm not oozing talent for poetry at all. But at least I'll have something to give to my teachers if they ever ask for some haikus.

My Poem

So, what did you all think of it? Cosidering that I absolutely loathe poems, it's not too bad, hmm? If I had to choose a form of poems I liked best, I would definitely go for Haikus - witty, short and simple. The Japanese were definitely on to something!

I'll post some haikus...just in case I may have to write some for homework, or something. Besides, I need to let the world see my beautiful talent for poems/haikus (sarcasm).

MY POEM

The Peaceful Forest

The forest is heavy with silence
But it is not a bad, sad silence
The silence is soft and gentle, happy and sweet
It folds you up into a hug and breathes happiness into you
The sun shines through the green leaves
The light makes admirable patterns on the forest floor as it seeps through the branches
Birds twitter, squirrels hop
From a nearby lake, the sound of ripppling water reaches my ears
A gentle wind blows, stirring the grass and releasing the fresh smell of flowers
Peace has entered my heart

Free From School!!!

I'm free from school for the weekend! YAY!! My music teacher is making us sing some weird African song as well as a French Christmas-y is song and Jingle Bells. The previous practice was so boring, I nearly fell asleep on my feet (my friends had to nudge me).
I've never been good with poems, and last week we had to write a poem, which totally sucked...I got a pretty average score. I'll post it on the next post :)
